Grace for Today

I’m married to a woman who prides herself in being a “grace hog.” No, that is not my term for her. She coined that phrase! As a pastor’s wife and a busy mother of eight children, Marion has an earned PhD in accessing the grace of God. She’ll take as much grace as she can get. The good news is that God has an infinite supply available.

What is GRACE?

It’s the supernatural enablement that comes from the Holy Spirit to empower us to live for the glory of God!

How do we get it?

You simply ASK.

I love this passage from Psalm 57.

David is running for his life from a jealous, maniacal monarch and he takes refuge in the bowels of a dark, damp cave. David is overwhelmed with frantic fear (verse 6). Fierce and brutal men, like hunger-crazed lions, are wanting to tear him to shreds (verse 4). He’s literally between a rock and a hard place.

He needs help! What does he do?

He cries out to God for GRACE:

“Please, God, show me mercy! Open your grace-fountain for me, for you are my soul’s true shelter.” (Psalm 57:1 TPT)

What an amazing picture! Did you know God has a “grace fountain?”

In the midst of this dry and weary land we call planet earth (Isaiah 63:1), God has fountains of grace to refresh and strengthen us along the way.

God’s mercy is always available. The question is, do we access it? The Lord said to the prophet Isaiah,

I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19 NLT

God has provided a pathway in the midst of confusion. There is a clear, refreshing stream flowing through your desert.

Do you see it?
